What are the minimum system requirements for running MISTonDemand Server?
Operating System:
MISTonDemand Encoder is currently designed to run on a Win32 platform such as Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP Home or Professional. The Streaming Server portion of the software will run on Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 (Workstation or Server), and Windows XP Home or Professional. The MISTonDemand Server Unit produced by MIST has Windows XP Embedded as its operating system. Also we are designing a Linux based solution.
Memory:
512 MB is the minimum with 768 MB or higher recommended. Adding memory enables the server to handle more information at any given time. The MISTonDemand Server Unit produced by MIST has 768 MB RAM for the Small Business Edition (SBE), 1.5 GB RAM for the Midsize Business Edition (MBE) and from 2-4 GB RAM for the Custom Business Edition (CBE).

100 Megabytes free for MISTonDemand Encoder, plus 75 MB for the streaming server portion
What kind of Internet connection is required?
An always on broadband Internet connection is required for running the MISTonDemand Sever. This includes DSL, Cable, T1, and always on ISDN connections.
Can I adjust the quality of the MISTonDemand streaming video?
Currently the MISTonDemand system is optimized for the customer's Internet connection bandwidth, as well as itself, so there would normally not be a need to adjust the settings. The settings can only be adjusted by a qualified MIST Technician.
How many cameras can MISTonDemand support at once?
MISTonDemand can address as many cameras as the customer needs require. Our Engineers will size the MISTonDemand Server appropriate to the customer's needs.
Can MISTonDemand operate behind a firewall?
As an integral part of a security system, MIST Innovations recommends that MOD not be placed behind a firewall. The MOD system has been designed to maintain the security and integrity of the users' computer system, and to continue to operate properly in case of performance problems with the users' computer system.
